So grateful I am blind!

Ok this morning I had the most amazing conversation with one of the other sisters here in the mission. We were talking and teaching one another and I told her of something I had thought up while I was teaching a lesson some time.

SO often I get asked:
"Well, why did Heavenly Father need to bring forth the Book of Mormon?
Isn't the Bible good enough? Why confuse everyone?"

Right I could definitely see where the confusion can come.
And then I thought of this amazing analogy!
Ok I want everyone to close their eyes.
(Read a little bit ahead because if your eyes are closed your wont know what to do next haha)

Do it.. Close them.
Ok.
Now just open your left eye and look straight forward
What do you see?
everything in front of you and to the left correct!?
Perfect.
Alright now I am wonderful and I will go on living with just one eye closed. yeah?

Wait... excuse me. I like using both of my eyes. I was given two of them...
why would I only use one?
I guess If I use both my mind really wont be able to distinguish
the two pictures each eye is bringing in!
So CLEARLY I would just use one.
Wait no.
Heavenly Father has already figured this out. When I use both of my eyes I get the full picture! I see everything that I need to see from both the right and the left side!

That is exactly how I look at the Bible and the Book of Mormon.
If I only use one of them
then I am missing out on half of the picture!

And get this! Added revelation plays into the picture too
(This is why I'm grateful I am blind)
I need my glasses to be able to see.
Well see clearly anyway.
That's just like a modern day prophet, when I follow the Prophet and listen to his council I am clearly seeing what Heavenly Father needs me to know and see.
(The way I use my glasses is to look through them right?
I can't just stare at them to make them work?
That's weird... I might be doing this wrong)
No I have to look through them, use them as a tool and then I will see clearly!

Ask me how I know this?

Because I where glasses and I use both of my eyes to see.
AND
I have prayed and asked Heavenly Father.
He is all knowing
all loving
And will tell us truth

Read the Book of Mormon, and listen to the Prophet and watch how your relationship with Our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ increases like crazy!

I know that this is the true and living church on the earth.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is for everyone!!
Because we are all Gods Children!

The Bible is in Jerusalem and The Book of Mormon is in the America's
 at the same time!

Who else is ready to use both their eyes again!

Share the Light

Can I just say how grateful I am for the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life?
I had this moment today when we were in meetings when I thought to myself,

"Why did it take me so long for this to become my life?
To become what I did? and how I breathed and how I just was?"

It then makes me think about the people I am teaching and how amazing I think they all are! They are learning and growing and relying on their faith far more than I ever have! It took me a lifetime of knowing and living the gospel to know that this is HIS gospel and HIS teachings..
and it takes them weeks!

My mind thinks about how trusting our Father in Heaven had to be to allow them to come to earth knowing they wouldn't have the restored gospel in their life right away... but also knowing and having faith that one day it would click in me and I would go searching for them!

I feel as if that's how it is with everyone.

Heavenly Father is relying on us to open our mouths. To show love. And to share what we hold so dear, so that He can bring His children back home.

I think of those people I have met here on my mission, the lives I have touched and the love the has been extended! It is contagious! If everyone could just stop for a moment and not think about who is right in the world and WHAT IS RIGHT there would be so many more "aha" moments and a lot less heart ache and sadness. Everyone is searching for truth, I see it everyday I go out to do the Lords work. Everyone is hoping for that answer from God to know where to go.

The most miraculous thing is that it has been restored! All of it! The church, the origional teachings and doctrines of Jesus Christ have been restored to the earth. Their is a prophet on the earth! A mouth piece for the Lord. The Power and authority of God is back and that's what matters! Follow the truth and search for the Light of Christ.

We should make it a matter of our everyday lives to lift and share the truths that we hold dear! Love our fellow brothers and Sisters and share the light!

Find His light

Hello Everyone! Isn't today just a beautiful day?! I have seen so many little miracles today, I can't imagine life any other way. It's all possible because of my Savior! I can learn all I need to do by learning about his life. Today I was reading in the Book of Mormon, which is an ancient record of the people who lived in the America's. It is another Testament of Jesus Christ, and I am so grateful for it!

So lately I have been reading about Christ and how I can better live my life so I can be happier. Make better choices, and be that LIGHT that he is to the nations! That is one of his names "The Light". He teaches me that the Light of the body is the eye. So where ever my eye is focused, that's where my light source is going to come. If I am doing evil things then my eye is looking in the dark and I wont be as bright. But. If I change my view to always focus on Christ and his light than I will beam with his love and his light.

How do I do this? I mean it seems that it would be really simple, to do all that he asks me to do.

That's the thing. It is simple. We make life so complicated. Just as we walk one foot in front of the other each day our choices are the same. If I am praying each day. If I am reading from the scriptures each day, and if I am going to church each sunday I am showing Heavenly Father that I need HIM. He is my number one source. I am showing Jesus Christ how thankful I am for his life, and his Sacrifice, as I live my life. I am honestly seeking the guidance of the Spirit to teach me, and allow me to walk in the path of righteousness! See. We can do it!

Now I am not saying it is easy. Life isn't meant to be easy. We wouldn't learn if it was. I grow the most when I am challenged. However, I do know, that the more we pattern our life in the good times, when those hard times come (and they will) we already know what to do.

So start now if you haven't and pattern your life after the life of Christ! Study daily and pray always and watch as your light grows. Your understanding will grow, and your days will just keep getting better!

I love my Savior! He is my best friend, and my go-to in all that I do. I am able to change my light, and make it grow brighter because of him. I love light. I see so much better with it!
We are so blessed!
